The Field Society is a loose order of amateur naturalists devoted to a single, overlooked subject: other people. We hold that the most fascinating wildlife is the kind that orders a second drink at the airport bar, weeps at a wedding it was dragged to, and tells the same story three times at a bachelor party.
Our field guides are made for observing the human animal in its natural habitats — the departure gate, the reception hall, the hotel lobby at 1 a.m. — where specimens gather in great, unguarded numbers. Each guide is meant to be carried, not shelved. Take it with you. Find your specimens. Take notes. Whatever you do, don't make eye contact.
Headquarters undisclosed. Membership unconfirmed. Dues payable in careful observation. New volumes issued as the fieldwork warrants.
