the real game

Best played with witnesses.

The bingo is the excuse. The real fun is the noticing — and the half-second you catch a friend's eye because you both clocked the same stranger at the same moment. Play it across a table, a terminal, or a group chat. Nobody around you has to know you're playing. That's rather the point.

what's in the pack

What you get.

A captive audience in formalwear is the richest hunting ground there is. Eight specimens of the ceremony, illustrated and named, with four shuffled bingo cards and house rules. Written in the dry, observational voice of a nature documentary — about humans. Print it, or open it on your phone and mark squares as you spot them.

Mode i

Print at home.

Print on standard letter or A4. Tear off a card, fold it into a pocket, take it in. Pencil works best — pen reads as conviction.

frequently asked

Questions, answered drily.

Do I need a printer?

No. Print it at home for a paper card, or open the PDF on your phone or tablet and mark squares with Markup, Apple Pencil, or any annotation app. Both modes are intended.

How does the bingo work?

Each card is a grid of specimens. Spot one in the wild, mark the square. Five in a row and you win — quietly, to yourself. Five house-rule variants ship in the pack. But the bingo is really just an excuse to notice people together.

Are these mean-spirited?

No. We punch at behaviors, uniforms, postures, and accessories — never at identities. The voice is observational, not cruel. We are documenting a species we belong to.
